Hello 2008
Wednesday, 02 January 2008. WilcosWorld.
A new year, a new blog design. Over the past few years, I have been trying to find some sort of visual identity I am happy with, Currently it is a blue/white/grey colour scheme. It is a rather cold look I know, so I am also working on a more orangey/red theme and a cool black and silver theme.
I am going to try and improve my blogging this year, I agree with Shawn Blanc here;
"We have to remember not to confuse topic with content. What you write about is much more important than how you write about it. You may not be witty or savvy or funny or cute. You are you. And you have something to give. Somewhere there is something that you find interesting, wonderful and beautiful. So please please tell us why so we can discover it too." Shawn Blanc
I took this refresh opportunity to tidy up many of the older posts, add some updates where appropriate and delete one or two which were simply press statements I had reworded whilst in a brief writers-block. I still have some CSS tweaks I want to sort out, and now that I have the updated design online I need to weed out the superfluous code.
The Search bar has now been Javascripted into a little pop-down section in the navigation, and for non-Javascript users, (or those who have the function turned off), I have catered for you too. I've learned so much in the past year about web design, and about writing so hopefully I will be able to partner up those two skills into something that will be of interest to someone in the world. There are over a billion internet users in the world, someone somewhere must find this interesting.
This is also the last, 'blogging about blogging' type posts I am going to do. Promise.
I thought I would leave you with something important. Carl Sagan's Cosmos.
Happy New Year.
