Habari Powered

Thursday, 01 May 2008. .

Habari is a free and open source blog engine written in PHP, which is still in Alpha... which is slightly worrying, but I thought I should bite the bullet nevertheless. I’ve been running my Habari version of the site alongside Wordpress for a little over a week and after a few minor hickups, (much to my surprise), I decided that now was the time to make the leap and so WilcosWorld is powered by Habari!

There are a few little bits and pieces that need to be ironed out:

  • The paging is broken on search / category results
  • The Archive page returns results twice
  • Chris Meller is working on this one at the moment.

Although not an a bug as such, I’m yet to implement a list of tags, the CSS on the archive page is still not as I would like, but neither are that critical. I hope by taking my site Habari now, I will learn enough about the engine to give something back to the Habari community, if nothing else I intend to make some of my old blog themes into free Habari themes.

I've got a quick demo video of the interface, (and how it should all look), on Flickr:

Anyway... here we go!
