After several false starts, I have finally got the hang, (and the addiction), of Twitter.
Like the Facebook feature, of the "status update", Twitter lets you send "updates" of up to 140 characters of text to the Twitter website. You can use the site to do this, or SMS, IM or third-party applications. You can also follow other people, and receive their updates on the website, via RSS or using an application like the OS X client Twitterrific, created by The Iconfactory. Today, Play.com has started selling DRM-Free MP3 tracks.
This follows the success of Amazon launching their MP3 Download site last year, although sadly this is still only available in the US. Briefly you were able to access it in the UK by simply putting in a fake US address, but they seem to have caught onto this ruse. Read the rest of this entry »

What does Britney Spears mean to the Media Industry, and do I give a damn?
Yet again, Britney Spears is in the headlines, as for the second time this month she has been put on a 5150 involuntary psychiatric hold. Since she bounded to international stardom with her debut single "...Baby One More Time" released in the end of 1998, she has become a regular character of the news media.
