iMac + iPod Apple
About a month ago, I bought a new Apple iMac because my Mac Mini, (although serving me well), was struggling with me running all the programs I needed to do my work simultaneously. So I dug deep in my pocket and got myself an iMac.
For those interested in the Tech Specs: 17-inch wide-screen LCD, 64-bit Intel Core 2 Duo processor, (2.16 GHz). 2 GB Memory, DVD+R DL/DVD-RW/CD-RW. Built-in camera, FireWire, USB 2.0, Bluetooth, Wireless, and IR Receiver.
I wanted to tell you all sooner, but I had to sell my old mac on Ebay first, and I didn't want to publicly announce that its hard disk has crapped out on me before I got it sold. I should note I got the hard disk replaced and certified working before I sold it on, but still.
OSX itself, is rock solid, hasn't crashed once, and has wowed everyone who has seen it! I could wax lyrical about the iMac, but suffice to say that when I mentioned to the girlfriend that I think I had found a replacement for her, she wasn't impressed.
A point to take away from this: Never tell your significant other that a computer is equal/more important to you then she is, (even in jest). They will not get the joke, and sulk.

Anyway, to go with my new iMac, this Christmas I decided the time was right, I should bite the bullet and buy an iPod. I feel rather ashamed that in November 2005, I posted about Lucy's iPod, and stated that "I can't say I'm all that impressed... I just didn't like it." I was wrong, I'm sorry for mocking you for the past two years Lucy. I love my new iPod, it is sexy, sleek, stylish, and does exactly what I want it to.
It is just over 4 inches tall, 2.4 inches thick and weighs just 0.2 kg. It is the iPod Video model, which means I can play films on it. I remember how awe-stuck I was when I got my first MP3 player and was amazed I could carry my whole music collection around with me, now I can carry my music collection, as well as a sizeable portion of my films. The quality of films still leaves something to be desired, but its a good start. What I really love is the iPods ability to automatically sync all of my music, photos, address book, and calendars when I plug it in. It's just another tool that I can leave to get on with the job, comfortable in the knowledge that my back is covered thanks to Apple.
