Apple WWDC 2007

Monday, 11 June 2007. .

Update: Only two of my predictions came true, Vista virtulization and GUI update. Find out more on my OS X Leopard post.

Later today, Steve Jobs will deliver the Keynote address of the 2007 Worldwide Developers Conference, in San Francisco.

This is the event where Apple fanboys and fangirls get to see all the lovely new stuff that Apple has been working on. Last year we were given a preview of the new operating system, Mac OS X 10.5, better known as Leopard. At the time Steve told the assembled masses that there were one or two things that they had up their sleeve, and hopefully today, we'll find out what they are.

All over the AppleBlogSphere there have been a selection of predictions, I will list a few here:

  1. Mac OS X - Leopard
  2. With Microsoft Vista virtualization built right into Boot Camp
  3. New GUI for OS X
  4. User Interface... basically what you can see, the look of windows that sort of thing
  5. iTunes HD
  6. Major complaint for iTunes movies, the poor quality
  7. Blu-Ray Support
  8. Not really of interest to me, it is time for straight-to-Hard Disk movies.
  9. iPhone Integration
  10. I can't see iTunes being the hub for Music, Movies, AND your phone.
  11. iMacs Updated / 17" Discontinued
  12. They haven't fiddled with them for a bit, probably time for a new range. Although, I love mine how it is.
  13. Mac Mini Discontinued

Some, (probably most), will fail to happen, but that's the fun of playing the Apple guessing game.

Personally I think they will play down the iPhone, due to it's huge exposure at January's Macworld Event.

Anyway, this year's WWDC kicks off with the Keynote at 5pm UK Time. You will be able to track the announcements live, at macrumorslive.com.
