Foxit Reader Microsoft
Portable Document Format (PDF) is a file format created by Adobe Systems, which has become the de facto standard for printable documents. Now although PDF is an open standard, (you can use OpenOffice to create .pdf files), the general program for viewing documents on Windows is Adobe Acrobat.
Now I don't know about you, but I am always annoyed about how much disk space Adobe Acrobat takes up on my PC hard disk. For a program I rarely use, its a pain having such a massive program for the occasional .pdf I get sent.
So for Windows only comes Foxit Reader. A free application, that lets you open, view and print .pdf documents. At just 2MB once unzipped, this is a speedy yet light beast and between you and me it felt so good to remove Acrobat from my computer!
There isn't an Apple alternative for Foxit Reader, as you can just use the Preview.app which is very much the the Swiss Army Knive of file viewing applications.
