GMail Drive

Here's an interesting idea. As you probably know Gmail, (or Google Mail, after the trademark dispute with a London-based research firm), gives you more than 2,500 megabytes, (over two gigabytes), to store your emails in. Why not put that space for a more practical use then just emails?

Now even if you are the most avid emailing individual, its unlikely you will use all that space, so why not use it to store files on? A rather neat little shell extension called GMail Drive creates a virtual file system around your Google Gmail account, allowing you to use Gmail as a storage medium.

This basically means you can use your gmail account as a storage area, and it will appear on your computer just like another drive. I can see this as being extremely handy if you are traveling between home and uni and working on documents.
